My ocean Adventure!

I groaned as I was trying with all my might to keep swimming through the deep ocean. “ Rainbow! Where are you?!” I yelled frantically. I was trying to find my friend who was a fish. I know, that's pretty weird, but I need him because he is the last one of its amazing species. Rainbow ran away because he was scared of me when I was in the water with him. He looked like a big blob and was as yellow as a minion! 

Soon, I was getting way too tired of swimming so I floated on my back to relax. But.. as I layed there, I heard a big swishing sound under me. I was a shark! It’s fin poking out of the deep water was as sharp as a blade. I quickly covered myself in seaweed to be camouflage. Then it went away. “Blugh!” I said as I took the seaweed off me. 

“There he is!” It's Rainbow! He swam around me joyfully. And we swam together for a bit until I called my friend's yacht to pick me up. That was the best adventure I have ever had. The End

Snowmen On The Doorstep

It was a freezing Christmas night. As the spoiled girl ripped open the little red present. She held her present up and started sobbing. “I don’t want this trash!!” She screamed to her father. “Snowmen are weird and boring!” She was getting more rage by the minute. Then, a weird mischievous look came onto her face. “What on earth are you doing that face for darling?” Her mum asked. The careless girl slowly picked the toy up, and ripped it’s whole head apart from its body! “I’m sorry mama, it's already broken” she said, trying to look as innocent as possible. Then she walked off to her room and slammed the door. As she was getting ready for bed, her mum said “I'm going out to a Christmas party with you father tonight, so be a good girl.” “We won't be back till ten o'clock tonight.” She said, sounding quite happy to be out away from her. The little girl didn’t talk back because she wanted to pretend to be angry at her just to be dramatic. That night, while she was trying to get to sleep, she heard something rustle in the bushes in the front of her house. It was almost midnight, and her parents weren't even there yet. Then she heard it again.. “That's it” she said to herself as she got out of bed. As she made her way to the front door, she saw a glimpse of something as white as snow going past the window. As she turned the doorknob she said “Mama, father, is that you?” She said. Creeaack went to the door. “Aaahhh!!” she screamed as she saw a thousand snowmen standing there staring at her. They all had blocks of coal for eyes, a weird crooked carrot nose and a long, straight black mouth. They all just stood there in silence, then after a while, they all turned around and walked away. She noticed that they were holding signs with all kinds of languages written on them. She went inside, and researched what it said on the signs. Then she found the disturbing message.. “If you hate us, we’ll hate you”. The end.

Poppy writing: Hang On!

It all happened so quickly! One minute he was standing on the platform, the next he was hurtling through the air, hanging on for dear life… Jack was so scared. He only wanted to take an epic picture pretending to fall off the platform, but it ended up him hanging off a moving train! 

That morning, Jack and his dad were going to go on a nice train ride in town together. When they got there, the train wasn’t there yet so they decided to take some cool pictures. Jack’s dad told him to pretend to fall off the edge of the platform in the picture. So Jack did what his dad said and walked over to the edge of the platform. He leaned over, but just as his dad was going to take the picture, the train was coming!! It was so loud from the crowd of people so Jack couldn't hear his dad yelling at him to get out of the way. And SWISH! The train scooped Jack up and was zooming through the station. Jack was screaming to his dad to get him off, but he couldn’t because his hand was stuck in a crack between the train carriages. ‘’ Dad!! Help me! ‘ yelled Jack.’ ‘’ Hold on Jack! I’m coming! ‘’ cried his dad. The train was going closer and closer to the end of the platform. Jack’s Dad ran after the train but eventually, Jack’s dad didn’t see the train anymore because it had gone into a tunnel and disappeared with Jack. 

The tunnel was dark and Jack was scared. He banged on one of the windows of the train but no one heard. Then he realised that he was holding the camera, so he had an idea. Jack put on the flash button and shone it in the dark tunnel so that the driver would notice. He flashed the camera and the driver saw and at the next station the driver stopped the train. The people on the platform next to Jack were all shocked and tried to get him down. “What happened?” they said. Jack grinned. “I want to do it again!” he said!

Piece by piece, the street was disappearing. There was a strange non-stopping puff of smoke that was making the whole world disappear. “We gotta get help, stat” said Mrs Robbins to her family.  The family were having a party, and at midnight they heard on the news that the universe is going to vanish in less than 3 hours.  The Robbins went to warn the rest of the neighbourhood. By only ten minutes, the Robbins house was gone.

They were running as fast as they could to go to Uncle Joe’s lab to try and get something to get rid of the vanishing smoke.  Dogs were barking, kids were crying and parents were panicking.  Then they got to the lab and screamed to Uncle Joe, “Hey! We need to get something out of your lab to get rid of the huge puff of smoke!” “Huh?” said Uncle Joe, putting up his hearing aid.  “You need something to get people not to smoke?” “No! There is a huge puff of smoke making…..oh whatever!” They rummaged around the big cupboards to try and find something. Then the little girl Sally found a disappearing smoke potion. “I found it Mummy!” They all gathered around her like she had found some gold.  “Oh No!” The smoke was appearing outside the window.

Then Sally’s 1 year old brother Max grabbed the bottle and had a sip. “No, Max!” cried Mrs Robbins. Luckily, Max did not disappear but it did make him have smoke coming out of his bottom! “Ew! Smells like a mixture between baby food and fire!” said Mrs Robbins. “What?! Fire? Fire! Fire!” yelled Uncle Joe. “Oh, he fainted” said Mr Robbins. The whole lab was a mess from everyone looking for the potion. “We will clean it up later” said Mrs Robbins. They all ran out spraying the potion into the air everywhere. “Woah! What happened to my lab?” yelled Uncle Joe, getting off the floor.

Luckily, everything went back to normal. “Ahhhh” said everyone, plopping onto the couch. Then the TV flashed on. “Breaking News! There is a non-stopping puff of wind making unknown buildings appear all over town!’

Howick historical villiage

On the 9th of march room 25 went to the Howick historical village. When we got there we had some morning tea. We put our bags in cupboards to keep them safe.  Then we went and learned about how communication worked in the 1850's.  Next we did some codes and went to the olden day primary school. We learned some things about what school was like then.  School was the funnest part. after we went back to have our lunch.  Mrs Rodger took us on a tour around the village. It was very interesting.  We found out that there were no toilets in any of the houses. Also, we found out that they only ride horses and carriages not cars!
